Tierra Bella Farm’s first year

Cool weather is rolling in and the craziness of summer is winding down giving me time to reflect on  Tierra Bella Farm’s first year. It is hard to believe how much has happened in one year.  Looking back at this time last year, everyone in my family was pitching in to clean up and fence the farm, find animals and plan the garden.  The work to get the garden going in spring and early summer was compounded by planning my wedding and only now in late September does it seem like I have had time to catch my breath.  I have learned so much about my land, community, and myself this first year and I am so excited to use all this to expand the garden and my business in the next season.  Thank you to everyone who has come out to the farm and gotten their hands dirty helping me and to everyone who has supported me at the farmer’s markets.  I will be sending out a monthly e-mail to keep in touch this winter, if you are interested in joining please send your name and e-mail address to tierrrabellafarm@gmail.com

Babies Everywhere!

305220170213_155104February was an exciting month at Tierra Bella.  Our goat gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl, marking the first babies on the farm!  We are so happy to welcome these healthy kids into the world and excited to get part of mama’s milk.  Above is a picture of them at about a half hour old.  Amazing that they can already stand and walk. So proud that first time mama did not hesitate at any of her duties of caring for them.  Shortly after we got our first batch of chicks.  These little day old babies are having a great time stretching their legs and bonding with Luna the red heeler, more baby pictures to come!
